Hi All,

I am looking to upgrade my graphics card from my Sapphire HD6950 Dirt3 Edition to either of the above 2 cards.

I am in Australia and what's interesting is that the prices of the HD7950 with Boost are dropping and I have found some that are under the price of the new GTX 760, only by $15-20 but one of the differentiators of the GTX 760 was that is was cheaper then the HD7950.

Reviews seem to be conflicting and there arent an awful lot of reviews on the boost editions of the cards.

I will be running a 3 monitor setup on my rig but I am unlikely to really use it for gaming, I usually just game on the centre screen. One of the reasons I am upgrading is because the HD6950 wont run all 3 screens at full res (2560 x 1440) I only get 1080 on one of my screens.

So, if you were me, what would you do?

You can't really go wrong with both, I honestly would go with the GTX 760 due to superior driver support (Day 1 game drivers ahoy!) and far better Dual-GPU\SLI drivers should you go for it one day. The GTX 760 can edge out the 7950 w\boost in some games, while for the most part, they are neck-a-neck. The 7950 does however, have massive OC headroom that can get it close to the 7970 for far less money.

Since you won't be gaming on all 3 screen either card should do fine. The 7950 is 384 bit and 3GB Vs. 256 bit and 2GB. In multi monitor gaming the 7950 has the huge advantage there, but since you only game on the center screen either should be more than powerful enough to max games (max with the 7950 close to max with the 760) and still run the two others.

EDIT: The 7950 (Especially Sapphire) are overclocking machines which easily leaves the 760 behind even with it OC'd.

At that resolution the hd 7950 is faster than the gtx 670 and the gtx 760 due to higher memory bandwidth (it has 384 bit bus)......It performs more or less equal to a gtx 680 at that resolution.

Moreover the card has more vram than others so it'll help extended its lifetime once mainstream games start to utilize that much vram (some already do)....
