I'm little confused connecting my new motherboard, just got a Asus M5A97 R2.0 and im trying to connect the front panel connectors, I have 3 cables one with four sub cables (HDD LED, POWER LED, POWER SWITCH, RESET SWITCH all 2-pin) and 2 more, one USB 7pin and the other with 2 sub cables, HDAUDIO and AC97 all 7pin

I've connected the 7pin USB, and the 2pin power switch, reset switch and HDD led, but the manual says that the power led should be two 1pins but i only have a 2pin and cant be split to fit the 1pins. Also I dont know where to connect the HDAUDIO and the AC97

So can someone tell me how to connect these please?

Also I have a fan with a 3pin white connector and my motherboard only has 4pin white connectors, is it fine if I put it in the 4pin? it fits

Solution
The motherboard has HD audio. You don't need to connect the AC 97 cable. Connect the HD audio front panel connection to the motherboard front panel audio connector (AAFP).

I am but it doesnt say anything about 2pin connectors or 3pin connectors for the fan

As for the fan, if you do what you're asking, the fan will work fine, but the motherboard may or may not be able to control it's speed. Look to see if you can switch between PWM and Voltage control in the BIOS - if not, no biggie, but the fan will run at 100%.
