Hey guys :)

It's nice to be here, where there are so many smart IT people :)

Now to the topic: My GPU AMD Radeon Gigabyte 7950 GV-R795WF3-3GD Sometimes started to artifact, it's not much, but still it happens. GPU is at stock parameters: 1000 mhz core, and 1250 memo. Maybe you, people, can give some tips, what is happening. I have some thinkings of my self:

1) Maybe my PSU is not enough.
2) I have tried to get some more performance and played with AMD VISION overdrive settings (but as I know, I cant get siriuos injures in there).
3) Recently I have added Corsair SP120 PWM 4-PIN Fan, so maybe the power is not enough.

My FULL Specs:
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
CPU: AMD FX-8350 (Stock)
GPU: AMD Radeon Gigabyte 7950 GV-R795WF3-3GD
RAM: Kingston Beast 1600 2X4 With XMP ON.
PSU: Gigabyte Superb620 620W
Case: Gigabyte SettoII 140 With one rare 120mm FAN
HDD: WD Blue 3.5'' 1TB SATA3 7200RPM 64MB
Front fan: Corsair SP120 PWM High Pressure, 120mm, 4pin (Is this FAN good choice for front fan?)

P. S. At closed case, I got about 70 C temps on load GPU, at default I got 40 C. Gigabyte support service said that if GPU is not chrashing, then its good. When I have played with overdrive, few times GPU was at about 85 C in FurMark. Also GPU goes without problem Heaven Extreme, Furmark and 3DMark tests.

I play WOT at High settings, and then I see artifacting. Playing at GPU Stock and MAX settings is a bitt laggy, so High settings is better choice. I have tried to play with 1165-1400-8 proc overdrive overclock, I have git about 75 C temps then. But the game was almost fine. The artefacts appiers either at stock either at that overclock.

Hello,

1st - Does this happens only with WOT? Or does it happen with all games?

2nd - Have you tried to do a clean install of your graphics card driver?

3rd - Could it be that your psu is not giving enough power?

Thanks for your replay. :)
I dont game a lot, so I dont have any game, that uses a lot of graphics PES2013 runs good at full. :) I havent reinstalled driver, but I will try to do that. About PSU power dont realy know. This is new rig, I build it a month ago. And havent change anything exept XMP on RAM in BIOS.

XMP is for Intel systems. Try reverting back to stock memory speeds. And see if this fixes your artifacts.
Your game is loaded from the hard drive into memory. Then from memory into the video card memory.

If you get memory errors those errors then get sent to the video card.

That may explain why WOT sometimes just get off.

Hmm.. But I thought and here is the question: If XMP is for intel, then why Gigabyte put this thing into AMD MoBo BIOS?? And I have done few tests with AIDA 64, they showeld better permormance when XMP is on

XMP is optimized for Intel CPU's and memory controllers.
Increasing the memory speed does increase performance ,but it may not be stable on an AMD system.

Check your memory speed on the Memory tab and then check the rated speeds and voltages on the SPD tab of CPU-ID. you may need to increase memory voltage to get stability. Or manually set the timings in the bios.

I will past CPUID info latter, but for know, as I remember, at the BIOS default RAM runs at 1600 1.5V., When I manualy turn on XMP Profile1, ram still runs at 1600 at BIOS, but in 1.65V. As I said, CPUID info will be latter as know i'm not at my PC.

And here is CPUID INFO:

Hi, it's me again, I supose youre right.. Sometimes I got blue screen and error 1063. I checked ram with memtest86, and when XMP is turned on, it makes errors, when turned of, all night tests passed well..

Now I know, that AMD doesnt work well with xmp. :/
