Hoping I'm close to my final build now. Nothing too fancy, just trying to get good bang for buck without compromising performance and a view of going SLI in the future. Couple of things I'm unsure about is the mobo and CPU/GPU cooling options (ie. adequate for overclocking and okay for future SLi use?). I've chosen the K series as I want to learn how to overclock, even though it'll be primarily a gaming system. Hope that's enough info. All suggestions welcome.

I would change your i5 for an FX-8350/20 with a liquid cooler. You will get a very good over clock and it will not cost more. The FX are better for some newer games and for upcoming games that will become highly optimized for 8 cores. I'd drop the SSD for gaming as well, it won't increase performance. But yeah, what is your budget? I could suggest a complete build if you would want!

Thanks Matt, SSD is for OS, office and day-to-day software, just for speed. Complete build would be great! Top end £1400

Awesome build. Almost the one that I would have posted, but the only change I would like to bring would be to go for a 780 instead of the two 770's. I know the 770 in SLI is more powerful than the 780 but going for a single 780 adds up the option to SLI later, so a 780 should be good enough as it can easily max out games in 1080p for the next 2-3 years without dropping below 60 FPS. So just go for the single 780. Otherwise, it is a very good build. A beast I would say.
