Hi, I am trying to install a GTX 770 in a coolermaster elite 430, but the metal things that go down at the end of the graphics card can't go through, how can i fix this? Buy a new chase? Destroy the metal thing that is blocking the metal thing on the graphics card? please help

Solution
The best option is to buy a new case. Your next option is to remove everything out of the case and Cut out part of the metal that is in the way. (Being careful that it is not weakening the structure of the case to much) Then you can use some automotive vacuum line to cover the sharp edges so nothing gets cut. (Make sure to remove ALL METAL SHAVINGS) Vacuum line is around $2 a foot at any auto parts store. then reinstall all the components

I'd love to help, but uhh.. the "metal thing" isn't very specific as the to the problem. Are you talking about the hard drive drive cage towards the front, or the metal inserts you take out when you install a Graphics Card, or something completely different? Pictures would definitely be of use for this problem if you can take some.

I could JUST barely fit my 7950 into my Antec 300. I had to have no drive or my SSD behind it. The case was cramped. I went out and get the HAF XM. Huge case, doesn't matter what is behind my 7950 now. I know it sucks, but buying a bigger case is a great idea. Fits bigger stuff, and no air flow worries. You don't need to get the XM, but if you are trying to fit an ~16" card you are going to need a huge case. (or one where you remove one of the drive bays.)

i would just stick with the 300r, great company and great case. i only know a few brands on this site and the models i see are more expensive

There is no problem with LENGTH AFAIK.

The case states "314mm" (12.4") but there's at least another inch, possibly 14". I believe that's for the 6-pin/8-pin cards that may have power on the end. The card he mentioned is 274mm, though there are three cards in that category (probably the same length, plus he'd probably KNOW if was too long).

*I had the SAME PROBLEM on a previous case. It was difficult to fit the end of the card into the proper groove between the end of the case and the motherboard.

I turned the case on its SIDE, then used a flashlight to see where it should fit, and eventually got the card to fit.

**Once your card is seated, don't forget to push the plastic lever that locks it in place before removal or you'll break it (on the motherboard).

Also, I couldn't tell from the pictures if that card has a backplate or not, but if not I suggest you rig up something similar to a chair leg that takes a little pressure off the motherboard (between case bottom and card, as close to the end of the card as possible). The card should be almost LEVEL. Reducing flex also avoids the eventual card failure that can arise. It's fairly common.
