Is this a possible motherboard issue?

Good day.

I have a relatively low-spec rig I use to play GW2 and some browser games.

Mobo: ECS H61H2-M2
CPU: i3-2100
RAM: 4GB
GPU: GTX 650
PSU: 450W Antec V450P
Windows 7 32-Bit

The main issue I have with this build is that it keeps on killing GPUs.

GPU 1. I use to play simple games and had a GT220 installed. After just 5 months, the GPU died. I thought I was just unlucky so I replaced it with the GT420.

GPU 2. After about 3-4 months, the GT420 died, too. My first suspect is to the PSU, which is what the case came with some random company. So I bought a Trendsonic 650W (I'm sorry, I forgot the exact model..but it's a cheapo.), and replaced the gpu with another gt, GT430.

GPU 3. The replace died, too. (By "dying", I mean it stops working on any pc, at all.) Finally fed up, I bought the Antec VP450P, which is supposed to be a good gpu, and the GTX 650.

This set-up worked for 3 months. Now the GTX 650 is dead. (I still have to test it on other computers, just to make sure.)

The first thing that came to my mind:

Overheating - I was monitoring the temp of the GPU and it never went above 50 C.

Bad power source - The pc is connected to a surge protector. There are other pcs in the house and none of them are experiencing the same problem.

My question is. Is it possible that it's the motherboard that's actually causing this problem? Like a defective PCI-E slot. (The PC works fine on on-board graphics card.)

I tried to "fix" the motherboard by clearing CMOS, resetting the BIOS. No dice. Lastly, I tried to update the BIOS but since its firmware is a little outdated (7.00.xx), it requires me to upgrade the firmware first before I can apply the BIOS update. But when I try to short "me_unlock", as required, it doesn't work.

I'm ready to purchase a new MOBO and RAM, but I want to hear from you guys.

Thank you so much.

- Neil

Wow, so much casualties: (210,420,430,650...)

What do u mean "the PCI-E slot is defective", r'u telling us that u have difficulties installing GPU or slot is loosing?
