I mean, u can still OC but 970 couldn't handle extreme/enthusiast overclocking. (If u just OC to the 4.2-4.3Ghz 970 mobo is fine, if u wanna try 4.6 to 5.0 should at least get 990fx mobo to provide stability support, and also a good CPU cooler)
