Could i use the heatsink from my parts xbox 360 slim and replace the one in my original xbox 360 for a cooling upgrade when i add new thermal paste.

- the original xbox 360 overheats within a few minutes and when i did the code thing i found out it was something with the CPU

You can try but i would suggest cleaning ALL the dust out of there and replace the thermal coumpound. If that does not change anything you can try a new and bigger heatsink. I've seen people fitting cooler masters in their xboxes.
Notice that doing this will void your warranty(if you still have it) and is at your own risk.
