If you have a resolution of 1080p or lower, don't bother with the 4gb versions. 2gb will be enough. :)

As for which version; for me it's really a toss-up between the Gigabyte or the EVGA ACX version. The Gigabyte has marginally superior cooling but runs a little louder, whereas the EVGA is a little quieter and has superior warranty. Really depends on what you're looking for, but you can't go wrong with either. :)

Totally agree with sophiebeth100, unless you're playing on 3 monitors or use ultra high resolutions, you don't need 4 GB versions. 2 GB is plenty enough for 1080p gaming or 1920 x 1200.

As for which one is the best, I don't think there's a clear winner, but Gigabyte, Asus and EVGA all have a very solid reputation for their coolers. If you go with EVGA they have two different kind of coolers, but I prefer the ACX model, less noise and cooler GPU, however it exhausts more heat inside the case but that's not a problem at all if you have a case with good airflow.

I've read a while back that EVGA 770's voltage can be controlled, unlike other models. I'm just not sure. I'm trying to find the article but I can't find it. If OCing is important for you, you might want to focus more on the voltage control. And yea, Gigabyte's windforce and evga acx are both good.

The size of the screen doesn't matter - it's the resolution. Your TV definitely won't be higher than 1080p so 2gb will be plenty! :)

Your 42 inch TV probably has the same resolution as your 24 inch monitor (or very close). For instance, I have a 24" monitor at home too and it has a 1920 x 1200 resolution (16:10 format). I also have a 55" HDTV and the resolution is 1920 x 1080 (16:9 format, standard for most HDTV). So you see my 24" monitor has a little more pixels than my 55" TV (but just 120 pixel difference). A lot of 24" PC monitor also use the 1080p format. As sophiebeth100 said, the size doesn't matter only the resolution does.

But the real question is are you going to play on both monitors at the same time? Probably not. Most people would use "duplicate" display when hooking a HDTV so in that case 2 GB will be enough.
