Hello, and thank you in advance for your help. I'll try to be as specific as possible.

I have had my XFX Ghost Thermal R7850 Core Edition for close to a year now (bought it end of last August) and have had no problems what so ever.

I have never had the fan run above 50% and have never let the temperature get too high.

Last night, I had to download The Ship Dedicated Server to play the game with my friends, I downloaded it from Steam. Woke up this morning, installed it, tried it out, everything worked so I turned off my computer, no problems.

Come back three hours later, and when I turn on my computer, I get no signal. I had to plug in my HDMI into my motherboard to get any signal, and now it has switched to "Integrated Graphics."

I tried updating the driver, restoring the system... Nothing.

It won't even detect my graphics card, just my integrated graphics on my Intel 2500k CPU. Odd thing is, I reached inside (while grounded and made sure to touch nothing) and the Fan on my GPU still works.

Can anyone give me any advice as to what happened and possibly how to fix it? Or is it time to send it in for warranty?

Thanks in advance again!

Dude send it back or to the manufacturer, you've got a dud unfortunately, it happens now and again.

Well done on the trouble shooting, as I said trying that is a lot better than tearing your PC apart trying to find a problem which wasn't there.

Sorry pal never had any experience of this sort of thing (fingers crossed cause I own a 7850).

Maybe try it on another PC if you can, it may just have packed up but as you say the fans still operate ....... yeah its a weird one, I can't help I'm afraid.

Just an update for everyone:

I tried resetting the ram, resetting the card in each slot, and playing around in the BIOS with the order for which the graphics load up, whether or not to disable on board GPU, the works. I get nothing... Nowhere.

So... At this point I'm going to try the card at my friend's computer who literally has an IDENTICAL computer (we bought them at the same time and made the same day).

If it doesn't work in his, well... Then it's the card. If it does work in his... Time to start rooting around.

I've also made an account with XFX Support and registered the card and told them when I bought it.

At this point, I will continue to update for future people with this problem.

Thanks for the help so far everyone!

Update Number Two:

Brought the card over to my friend's house, and I will state again: IDENTICAL COMPUTERS.

Took his card out, put mine in... Nothing. No display. Put is back in, instant boot and splash screen.

So the problem IS my card, but he and I are perplexed. It must be an internal problem, as my card looks brand new (I treat my computer like gold and keep it well ventilated to avoid heat and dust) while his card looks a bit dusty, even though we bought and built on the same day.

Writing XFX Support now, will let everyone know how it goes and if we identify the problem.

Update #3:

Sent the card into XFX, as Diamond-HP suggested. They are replacing the card pronto and I have had a very pleasant experience with them.

I will update one final time when I get the card.

Thanks again everyone!

Good news.

Now give me "best answer" and our business is concluded lol.

Just kidding, glad they're working it out for you, hopefully soon you'll be back up and running, its why I bought a Sapphire model as their very reliable but this can happen to anyone I've heard even people with Sapphires have a DOA but once you get your new one, problems over.

Final Update:

New card got in today, put it in the system and instantly got a display. Now going through the fun process of re configuring everything and having to set up my drivers again.

Everything is fine, my computer detects it, Speedfan detects it, I can control the fan speed, and the works.

And thanks Diamond-HP for the help, you were right in the end, I just needed to sent it back. It's been a long few weeks.

I hope this helps anyone ever in a similar situation to mine... Moral of the story is, if you didn't personally break it, chances are you need to send it in.

Thanks one last time everyone!
