When I connect my laptop to my LCD ther is no sound. I have an ATI Mobility Readon 4300 and when I go to the Catalyst manager its says that my computer is connected via DVI-D but I do not have a DVI connection on my computer. I've tried updating and downgrading the drivers with no luck. Please help

I don't think DVI-D carries sound, only video.
If you connected laptop and lcd via hdmi, then you could get sound, provided the lcd has built-in speakers/connected audio.

You are trying display what is on your laptop on the LCD, if I read correct?

Yes. It used to work fine until one day it stopped recognizing the HDMI. Now I can see my computer on the LCD but no sound.
