Weird problem while playing games with Xbox 360 controller for windows (wired)

Alright so when I first got the controller it worked fine until I played a game with keyboard and mouse, since then , every time I play with controller I get to play 5 minutes and then I get huge fps lags UNTIL I move my mouse or keyboard -> then lag stops immideatly and game works perfectly for another 5 minutes where I have to move my mouse again to stop the lag :( any help?

System specs:
Processor: Amd Athlon (tm) II X3 445 Processor (3 CPUs) 3.10 ghz
RAM: 2 gb
Motherboard: ASRock N68C-S UCC
Graphic Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit

I suspect your Windows power settings don't recognize when your Xbox controller is being used, so while you are playing it thinks nothing is happening (since it saw no mouse or keyboard activity) then it goes into power saving mode. That could cause significantly reduced performance.

Try going to your power settings (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options) and select High Performance. If...

Try going to your power settings (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options) and select High Performance. If necessary check the settings on the High Performance plan, to prevent the system from doing any "power saving".
