Hey everyone, sorry for posting so much. Anyways, i need to reformat an old hard drive so it can be used in my new computer. I threw away the windows 7 install disk away when i got my old PC back in 2009. I will admit that i am going to use a torrent, i just need a way to reformat it with the usb stick so it will do a fresh install of windows 7 on my pc.

Best solution

Never feel it necessary to apologize for asking questions in a forum of all places. We're all here to learn.

Use DBAN to reformat. Here is a very straighforward guide to have DBAN bootable from USB: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/install-dban-to-a-usb-flas...

Hope this helps.

I use Dban so often at work that I carry it on a LaCie Key drive on my key ring. Praise open source.
