New CPU and I don't see the difference

I had a Dual-Core CPU and upgrade it to a 2 quad today and I don't see any difference at all in my computer. I have 8 GBs of ram and a not awesome but okay video card. I wasn't expecting big changes at all, I just wanted to run things I was running a little bit more smoothly. The game I play is League of Legends and I was running it at 29 fps and with the new cpu I was expecting 40 at least and it is still at 29. I did CMO reset and my BIOS is updated.

Anyone?

About the video card, I have seen persons with the same one running BF3 HIGH quality and with the processor I got too. So I don't know what I have wrong =/ I hope someone can help me with it.

Depending on which card you have, the processor probably wasn't the problem. The fastest way to improve game frame rate is with a gfx card upgrade. But as mentioned above, there's not much info in the way of specs there for us to go on.

Will this game automatically use new cpu resources, or should the op re instal the game? I am unfamiliar with new games. .

You havent lost anything; the Q6600 is what EYE lust after, currently running an E6600. But the 2nd number in a graphics card will give you an idea of its games capacity;
A 54-- Card will be rubbish for games, while a 57 will be ok, a 58 great, and so on. Which country do you live in?

Depending on your budget and the resolution of your monitor, something in the GTX 650ti or HD 7850 category would be about the max with the Q6600. Especially when O/C'd.

Edit: And most important, the make/model of your PSU.

Raidmax Hybrid 530W ATX12V/EPS12V

I didn't know the PCU has to do anything with the performance

What about the Radeon HD 7750 ?

Like I said, I don't want to run games like crysis or anything I just want a little bit of more fps with League thats all I play.

That it is. For that era of PC. It was quite an O/C'er. One of the best.

I was going to recommend you take your card into c.e.x. if you lived in the u.k., and trade it but it looks like your stuck with ebay or craigs list. Nothing I say will parlay up with prices in the states so you will have to look and choose. Your old cpu was already way faster than your card. Ideally, you want to buy a gts 450 refurb clearence for $70, or a gtx 460 for $80. You will have to check out new stuff too and decide. Or perhaps a new 7750?
its your money.

No bother.

I'm not sure about that model Ultra. They make some good ones... and some poor ones. Here is a hierarchical list of power supply models in order from best to worst: http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx

How much are they in the states? considering op plays one game now, habits wont change much, 7750 BLOWS away a 54, and frugal; might be ideal.

Around $100+ or so. There's also the Asus GTX 650: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121710
Fastest card that doesn't require a power cable.

So what is important in the power supply the watts? and the processor being more powerful than this video card how dos it affect it? I am sorry I am asking so much, I just want to make the right decision this time. The reason I asked about the video card is because I looked it on youtube and people play games with that card I can't even run the login screen.

You may have other issues with the PC.
1) Do you keep a virus ggm and malware pgm running?
2) Is your System Configuration/Start Up filled with a lot of pgms? How many are checked?
3) You may have registry errors and resource wasting junk that needs to be cleaned out. Run CCLeaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

The most important PSU spec when it comes to powerful gfx cards and to some extent processors, is the +12V rail(s). The number of amps. Amps times volts equals watts.
