Asrock990fx sata crash startup

So I build my first computer using the asrock 990fx MB hook up everything but sata hard drive, cd rom, and ssd, with out those connected I can get to the bios options. Then I connect them/one(tried all sockets&all combinations) it turn fan and lights on then my light up keyboard flickers then the start up screen appears for a moment then dissapears and restarts the cycle. I unplugged everything went into the bios and enable smart boot. Then I plug things back in and it says no device detected. I enable/disable IDE. Still nothing. I even tried with my old hard drive

Is the MB bad or do I have to wire the sata a certain way. Should I get a different one?

Because you don't have the win8 on the SSD or HDD, you need go to the BIOS set boot order: DVD/CD=1st, SSD/HDD=2nd. Don't connect the regular HDD yet. Also make sure you connect both of the data and the power cable to the SSD/HDD/DVD.

Boot the PC, install the win8, after done the installation, connect the HDD and tweak the SSD. Read the link for how to. http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds
