Nvidia 8800 GTX to EVGA GTX 760. What to know?

I am finally making the upgrade from my Socket 775 LGA Core2 Duo E6850/4 gig DDR2 525 based EVGA-NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI MCP system to a:

gen 4 Haswell i5 4670k/8 gig DDR3 1866 based MSI Z87-GD65 system.

Going to reuse my 256 gig Velocaraptor for OS/games and old samsung 500 gig HDDs until I can save up for a nice mSATA and some other SSDs!

But my real concern is my PSU vs. my future upgrades.

Not only is it an 'on-top' case (Thermaltake Xaser VI), but its a *gulp* BFG 1000 watt!

While I plan to run the 8800 GTXs SLI until I save up for the GTX 760, I was wondering if I should look for a new PSU and/or case before moving on the card upgrade or let the fact that it's run fine on my old build for three years now (after my first 1000 watt burned after 3 years) speak for it's continued use?

Not that it should matter, but I have plenty of space in the case, and am switching from Air-Cooled Thermaltake V1 CPU Heat-sync to an Corsair H60. So hopefully heat won't be a concern.

Thanks for any ideas involving this transition! It's been since January '08. Time to upgrade, and do it right!

I don't see why you should be concerned about the PSU. The GTX 760 is likely to consume less power and run cooler than the two 8800GTX in SLI. With GTX 760 your system would be fine with a 650W PSU.

Instead of a new PSU I would recommend buying yourself a SATA III SSD for the OS, apps and any games that have long loading times. Why do you want mSATA instead of SATA III?

Bro the H60 isn't worth it. Closed loop water cooling is just a gimmick. I'd rather buy a noctua monster. The temp between your TT V1 and H60 would be around 1 to 2 deg only. Not worth your money. Just save that for your 760. Reuse your PSU, it would still be good.
