Oh, hello there. I got my knickers in a bunch due this this huge problem.
Maybe you could help untie them.
It all started when i installed windows 7 ultimate after years of having windows xp.
when i start to install a software, the installation freezes before it can finish, and it stays there until i cancel it. And when i cancel it, it says it is canceling but it stays there forever. so i have to restart my computer. The thing is, sometimes, even though it doesn't finish, the software is installed completely.
the second problem is the freezing of things when i copy and paste a file. It goes up to the very end and it stays there forever until i cancel it and again it freezes. but the file is never good. i have to delete it. But again, sometimes, things get copied without any freezing.
My third problem is, the screen goes black and flickers for a second or two and then a popup notification appears telling that the display driver stopped responding and has recovered. this happens when i have too many tabs in Google chrome or when i have too many processes running. but it does occur when there is no process running at all too.

here is my system:

OS : Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, build 7600)
system manufacturer : MSI
system model : ms-7592
BIOS : default system BIOS
Processor : Intel(R) Celeron(R) D CPU 3.20GHz, ~3.2GHz
Memory : 2048MB RAM
DirectX version : DirectX 11

Display
Name : Nvidia GeForce 9600 GS
Manufacturer : Nvidia
Chip type : GeForce 9600 GS
DAC type : Integrated RAMDAC
Approx. total memory : 1521 MB
Current display mode : 1366x768 (32-bit) (60Hz)
Monitor : Generic PnP monitor

Notice : as you can see, the graphics card name is correct there, but the computer shows that the total memory is 1521 MB while the real memory of the graphics card is 768 MB. So how can i solve this problem. I have tried installing the drivers. but it still shows that. When i uninstall the drivers and tried installing the correct drivers (downloaded from Nvidia official website), it says the graphics card is not supported for the driver. Maybe if this problem is solved, all the other problems will be solved too.

your help will be much appreciated. Thanks :D
