It seems my poor little GTX 460 likes to lose its CUDA capability, knock its memory clock way the hell down and not budge. Any clues from anyone as to why this might be?

Could be failing, PSU may not be feeding enough juice

PSU is 650W Seasonic 80+ Gold fully modular... yeah the GPU could be failing.

I had said PSU - can you try a different cable since it's modular, but yeah, could be the GPU itself also, if you have or could borrow a diffferent PSU could rule that out if it does same w/ the other power supply

It's literally a 2 month old PSU... I don't see how it could be the problem

Update: It seems to be related to having MSI Afterburner open for extended periods of time.

That's a possibility too, do you have the latest version? Might check if it's been updated.

It also seems to be related to idling for long periods of time. If I even just leave GPU-Z's render test going, or my animated desktop background, no problems... but once it idles for a while, it up and loses CUDA computing, and the memory clock goes way the fk down.... whole PC slows down as a result. It's really annoying, and I'm about to scrap the balls off of this GPU as a result of this bs. The weirdest part is.. is that if I restart my PC, it goes away until it decides to crop up again.
Screenshot (Maybe it can help this problem get tracked down? Maybe not, who knows.)
