Between these two choices, which is the better motherboard for this system? They (from an outsider's perspective) seam equal in quality, and the cheaper one has Crossfire support, which may be nice in the future...

Mobo #1 (ASUS M5A97 R2.0): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131873 ($85 + $4 shipping)
Mobo #2(MSI 970A-G46): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130637 ($99 + $5 shipping)

Currently planned build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1l8R8

Thanks for any input you guys have for me, I appreciate it a lot!

I'd go with the Asus, much better QC (quality control) and support....in general I won't touch MSI for builds have had and see too many problems with DOAs and defective mobos a couple months down the road

They appear to be almost the same, aside from the improved crossfire on the asus.

The main differences that I can tell are that the asus has an internal usb3 header, though your case does not have front usb3 so it doesn't matter; and that the asus has 3 fan headers, as opposed to 2 on the msi.

Practically neither will make much of a difference as you only have 1 fan listed, which would leave room for another anyway. If it comes down to it, you can buy y-splitters which let you plug 2 fans into one header giving 4 fans.

Basically go for the cheap one

Alright, well thanks! Then I'll probably stick with that Asus board and my planned Sapphire 7870.
