Hey all. I'm giving it a go - making my own computer after thinking about it for over a year, and whether it was really the best idea. I was wondering if you guys could have a look at my build and make sure it's okay. My budget is £700 maximum, and I'm buying all my parts from scan.co.uk, but if you provide a link to somewhere else I could probably find the equivalent on scan.

Thanks for your help guys in advance, and without further ado, here is my build:

• MSI Z77A-G43 (Intel Socket 1155)- £88

• Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz - £170

• 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600Mhz - £59

• Seagate Barracuda 1TB @ 7200rpm 64mb cache - £49

Total Cost = £686

Critique and feedback is welcomed.

Thanks again.

EDIT: I am also wondering if my GTX 650 Ti Boost will be enough to play ARMA 3 on at least all high settings.

I would get a bigger HD, say 2Tb. For the difference in price its worth it.
Your graphics card is future-proof, run almost anything. If that won't run ARMA3, then ARMA3 is not worth selling.
You didn't mention your display resolution. This affects how well your GPU runs.
For the price difference, get the next grade power supply for GTX 650 Ti Boost . Even if you don't need it now, once you start plugging in more stuff and peripherals you better have more juice. Futureproof it.

Thanks for your feedback! I don't think I honestly will need 2TB because I've had this computer for five years and only filled up 300 gigs! I mainly store big files and music on external drives/USBs/etc. and don't really plan to do any video recording or anything like that in the near future. But thanks for your advice though. My display resolution is 1960x1080 and is a fairly new monitor so I don't need to buy a new one for a while yet.

Thanks, but I'm looking for an Intel build, not an AMD build.

I think you will be OK with the 1960x1080 resolution using GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST - (768 Cores). Choosing the GPU is not an exact science, a lot depends on how well behaved ARMA3 is. The only way to know the performance of GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST - (768 Cores) with ARMA3 is to read a review of someone who has tried that exact configuration with that game. Failing that you pick the best grade for a reasonable budget, which you did. Just do it!
