I have two Edimax Wireless Routers:
first is (ED-BR6524n) remains as main router, and the second (ED-BR6504n) I would liek to convert to Wireless Acess Point to extend the wi-fi coverage.

I've found an Edimax PDF tutorial, followed the instructions, but it didn't work. I couldn't connect to the access point wi-fi.

In the 1st router:
- set DHCP on
- set DHCP address space limits
- set wireless

2nd router:
- disabled dhcp
- changed router address different than the 1st's.
- disabled NAT
- set static routing
- set wirelss with different ESSID, different channel.

did I miss anything?

Solution
set the access point to an ip that is out of the range of the DHCP but different to the router, mine are usually in the 254 and 253 end of the range and pc's go from 1,2 etc

see if it is possible to set the router to a DHCP relay agent instead of disabling it.

you do not need to worry about changing the routing options as the routing is only between the switch and the modem in the router.

you can have the same SSID as the first router but stick it to a different channel.
