Have you verified your new card is compatible with your motherboard and PSU? It appears you have a pre-built HP. It could be the PSU is not powerful enough (does it have sufficient power connectors, if any). EDIT--noticed your PSU is not from a pre-built, disregard.

Also verify you have properly installed/seated the GPU.

Lastly, make sure you haven't forgotten to flip any physical switches on the PSU itself (not sure if yours has one; I've done this before).

What is the specific computer model number you have/had?

Thanks for the reply, the pre build pc is hp p6 2035uk. I'm pretty sure the power switch is on and the card is seated.

Now I get a different problem with each gpu.

The hd 7770 will boot but have no display.

The hd 7790 does not post. ATM I have put the 7790 aside as I can return that to overclockers.
