Hello there and thank you for your time. I've recently built my first computer and was wondering what drivers to get for my motherboard. I look under Chipset and see 4 different options. The first three appear to be the same thing just different versions but the fourth item is way bigger and is not the same driver it looks. Please take a look and tell me what I need for my Chipset, LAN, USB, and SATA if I need it. Thank you.

Solution
Try this:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20775&ProdId=3324&lang=eng&OSVersion=%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09%09%09%0A%09%09%09%09%09%09%09&DownloadType=
Download the .exe file.
If Windows 7 64 bit:
For chipset, you want to download the one with this date: 2012.09.05
For LAN, i would recommend downloading "2012.08.16" and "2012.07.19"
For USB, download the "2012.11.08" update.
For SATA: "2012.08.16", "2012.09.13", and "2012.09.17"

OK! Thanks for your help and finally I get the answers I want. I'm sorry about not listing my OS it slipped my mind but yes, it is 7 64 bit. Have a good day and I'll let you know if the device manger gives me any yellow symbols.

And why do I want to download the 2012 one on the chipset instead of 2013? Newer the better for drivers right? Or is it in like a beta? I see that it is the same version though, is that why?

Oops! Sorry, missed that one. For the Chipset, grab the 2013 one. Everything else though is the same.

Also looking at the oldest chipset driver it is a bigger file compared to the newer ones and had a different name. Should I get that too or no?

Nope. Just get the newest. It is probably a bigger file because it contains some utilities, which are not essential. In fact, often times the only purpose they serve is taking up space on the hard drive.

OK well I got it up and running but somethings not right. It just doesn't feel right. How can I check if my chipset is updated? My computer froze while browsing the internet. I had to shut it down with the power button and google chrome said my preferences were corrupted and I had to loging programs that had my password remembered. What happened, I'm worried.

Hm, that sounds a little strange. Try stress testing, with a program such as prime95. The crash may have been an isolated event.

I see that the SM bus controller has a yellow symbol but thats all I see. Do I need to drop down any sections to look for other things or no? What is this SM bus controller thing? Update: Ok I looked and that Bus thing is the chipset. I knew something was up. So I either installed it wrong or I do need that intel chipset driver and not just the MEI. How can I find out. I'm positive this is responsible for the crashes but is it really responsible?

Thank you so much for your help! I no longer have my yellow symbol there. I'll play around for a week or a couple days and let you know if the crashes and freezing cease. Thanks again!

Ok, glad I could help!
