Is it? Or did I mess up the thermal paste and have to reapply. My Bios says 46 while coretemp says like 21 (yes it has to be wrong). I'm asking first because I don't want to end up wasting thermal paste since you only get a small tube.

Bios always shows hotter, because you cant actually idle in bios. If it says 46 your idle would be about 40 which i would guess is about right. Try another temp program.

What program? Speedfan is worthless and Coretemp is the only other one I could find and it says 21 degrees celsius.
I'm guessing there's a difference? And yeah I read about the faulty core temps lol. Downloading program now, thanks! And the most it's gotten was after getting off stalker shadow of Chernobyl my CPU was around 55-60 degrees Celsius before dropping back gradually to 20.
UPDATE: downloaded and it's saying temps are 39 degrees Celsius. Also my fan speed on it is wigging out. On the program it's tweaking between 1300 rpms and 650000 rpms lol
Oh and my mainboard is 36 degrees Celsius...so everything seems to be in okay temperature range...
There are 2 temps that are measured one is the core temp and one is the cpu surface temperature
What are your room temps and what cooler are u using
Room temp is 80, and I'm using Hyper 212 EVO aftermarket cooler. and I did not know that. Interesting. Which temp is the most important out of the two or are they both?
