Triple 1600p Setup for Civ 5 & Music Production: Portrait or Landscape

Hi all. I am new to this thread and I have just purchased three 30" 1600p monitors from Dell. Graphics is not a problem since I am running a liquid-cooled triple-Titan rig. I mainly use this for school/document work, Civ 5, music production, and just browsing around.

Now my dilemma is whether to set the three displays in portrait or in landscape.
As of right now, portrait sounds more appealing because:

1. 30" displays are massive and putting them in landscape might make me move my head a lot sideways and may be uncomfortable.

2. Document work, school HW, and browsing all seem better with portrait displays since (naturally) we always scroll vertically when doing such activities.

But now here is the problem:
Music production, which I cannot give up has a longitudinal (horizontal) workflow. We scroll through the musical ideals horizontally and edit/arrange all horizontally. So this is an issue because I absolutely love music production.

I think the deciding point will be how Civ 5 matches up with the setups. What do you guys think? Does Civ 5 go better with portrait or landscape? What would you guys do in this situation?

Thanks

3 x Dell 30" 1600p plus 3 x liquid cooled Titans for school/document work, Civ5 and music production

...you have a lot of headroom and real estate there :)

Still, no harm in trying both monitor setup's. Select one that best fits what you do frequently.

I definitely do school work most frequently, obviously. But because music production is just so personally important...damn this is so confusing...
And yes, I had to nuke the ass out of my wallet to get that setup
