Hello, i need to order this today! :bounce:
me and my friend are going to have a go at our first build, and need suggestions on what i have picked so far, i already own a pair of 8 gig ram, they are very tall so not too many options for heat-sink. i only plan to overclock to processor and the PC is just for gaming.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=22877165

my concers are,
-if this if 650w is enough to power it and if that's a good PSU.
-newegg has this promotion which you can save 100$ with a selected Mobo+PSU, i don't know if that Sabertooth plus one of the PSU listed is a good buy??? :??:
-is everything compatible?

Appreciate any help given! XD

Solution
Ditch the sabertooth. It's expensive and the thermal armor traps heat inside and recirculates it. Not worth it.
This is a great psu/motherboard combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1392311

Drop the thermal paste. If you buy a good cpu cooler, it should come with decent thermal paste. You're only going to notice about a 1-2c difference, not worth the $10.

Don't grab the Corsair H80i. Single-rad closed loop coolers don't perform very well considering it's price. Grab a high end heatsink like this:

It will perform nearly the same as the H100i but at a cheaper and quieter option.

Cheaper HDD...

rofl you're good to go, seasonic is one of the best built psu's money can buy and they have a great warrenty that they actually stand by. A 650W is more then enough for your build and then some. Sabertooth mobos are one of the safest mobos to overclock with and has uefi bios (allows you to use your mouse) in the bios and also has auto OC if you happen to go that route.

I agree wholeheartedly with HillBillyAsian.
Haswell doesn't really offer the performance advantage over Ivy to justify the extra cost, unless you want to socket for later upgrades, which would make it worth it.

Are you accounting for tax, and a monitor?

yes is plan to be a little future proof with the new socket, i already own a monitor, to specify on the budget, i just dont want it going past $1300.

so about that newegg promotion, should i go with the sabertooth + CORSAIR HX650 gold rated psu? by the looks of it it saves some money for better performance?

tyvm for the replies!

No need for Caviar Black if it's not your primary drive.

Cheaper SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820249024
Plextor are very reliable and they make some good SSDs.

That EVGA card isn't very good because it uses a reference design fan. This has much better cooling: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125466

Case is always up to you, but I would suggest something else:
Fractal Design Define R4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352020
Corsair 500R: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139009
Cooler Master Storm Scout 2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119263
NZXT Phantom 410: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146085

Most of these changes will make your build much cheaper with the same performance.

thanks for the reply!

the reason i went for that cooler is because of the stupid tall ram i already have (vengeance) and don't want to waste more $ on ram, a lot of fan coolers i wanted like the Noctua unfortunately will not fit.

thanks for the other suggestions i will trim the build a little based on your recommendations!
