Here's my problem. For 2 years, I've connected my Samsung HDTV to my Sony Vaio laptop the exact same way using the exact same HDMI cable without a hitch. Last week I moved to a new apartment, I plugged the HDMI cable into the same port that I always use, and all my TV does is blink 'no signal'. The move was very short (< 5 miles) and I carefully moved all of this equipment myself, so I know nothing was dropped or mishandled. Any ideas? Is there a setting on the TV that might have gotten fudged when I unplugged it (I doubt that this TV has been without power the entire time I've had it)? I just don't understand. Everything worked out of the box the first time, and every time without a problem until now.

Solution
Do you have another HDMI cable? When we got a new TV stand I carefully de and re wired everything and I had the same problem that the TV would no longer pick up the laptop. Turned out to be a faulty HDMI cable.

I'm beginning to think it might just be this simple. Guess the joke's on me for buying the egregiously priced Monster HDMI and hoping for some longevity. I suppose I'll try to borrow another HDMI or try connecting this one to a friend's TV before unceremoniously trashing the overpriced cord.
