I'm a little torn between a 4350 and the 6350. My GPU is an MSI Gaming GTX 760 so which would be a better pair?

Solution
the 6300 is a very good CPU for gaming when overclocked. If you want to get the 8 core version for next gen games then get the 8120.

I'd get the 8350 but my motherboard doesn't support it. I've seen some benchmarks where the 4350 outperformed the 6350 in games such as BF3 and Crysis 3 but I didn't know whether to believe it or not. I've been told the 6350 was a better choice, but most benchmarks I've seen have shown the 4350 getting 10 frames more than the 6350.

if your overclocking the 6300 OC's the same as the 6350, and the 6350 even at stock doesnt give much of a performance increase at all over the 6300. If the 6350 cost more than $15 more than the 6300 then its not worth that cost. The 8120 is crap, its based on the older bulldozer architecture, which is poo.

ive heard about that and its true, what ive heard is that by putting a 4 core cpu increases performance because most of the games or all of the games use 4 cores right now, maybe in the future things can change and games will run 6 or 8 cores, sorry went out off topic a little bit but right now you need a 4 core because it uses all 4 cores as games use right now but if you use a 6 core or 8 core slows down the performance because those 2 or 4 extra cores are lying around doing nothing and that in someway slows down the performance, i dont know if you understanded my english is not very good but i hope this comment helped you to understand

No, more cores does not slow down the performance of the other cores, it just means your PC can do more at once.

The 6300 is by far and wide the best solution for performance to cost ratio out there...

I understand, but thats complete rubbish..... most games will benefit from extra cores past 4 cores, some more than others, none will get slower performance because of it. Maybe you should actually go read some reviews and get your facts straight.
