Hello,
I have been dealing with this problem all day long so far and I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me. This morning I rebooted my computer and got the "Bootmgr is missing" error and couldn't boot into Windows (the error comes up right before the starting windows screen would normally come up). I tried doing an automatic repair from the Windows dvd to no avail. I tried the manual way (using the command prompt) to no avail. Finally I had enough and did a format and re-install of Windows.
I am still getting the "bootmgr is missing" error. The only way I can get into Windows is if I go into bios and boot from one of my dvd drives (for some reason one drive doesn't bring up the install windows screens).
Is there something I am missing here? Is there some way to re-associate the bios with the bootmgr? I am completely at a loss on how to fix this issue. Please help if you have any ideas.
Computer Specs:
MSI 870A-G54 mboard
AMD Phenom II X6 processor
AMD Radeon HD6950 video card
8gb of ram
Windows 7 64 bit
Again if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thank you in advance.
