Will this CPU bottleneck my rig?

I'm purchasing a rig, and I'm fairly experienced with computers. I'm thinking of getting the A4-5300 CPU, which will be running with a GTX 560 ti. What I'm wondering is, will this CPU be a huge bottleneck for some more CPU intensive games? This is supposed to be a small budget build, so keep that in mind. Thanks.

Sure, if you're looking at benchmarks from 2010 games... A ton of new games use 3+ threads, and in some of the most demanding games like BF3, Crysis...

Check out Tom's own CPU buyer's guide. This is exactly what they publish it for.

You'd be much better off with the Athlon X4 750. Its much faster than that A4 APU, but cheaper than the A10 since it doesn't have the onboard video that you don't need anyway. Regardless, I would strongly recommend saving just a little more to get into the $130 range. If you could just get to a Core i3-3220, you'd be in great shape.

What about the a6 6400k? The reason I'm asking is because these are some of the only sub $100 CPUs being sold at my local computer store, and I would rather not have to order online (but I will, if need be).

it is better to buy an amd fx 6300 rather than an intel core i3 3220

Give us everything available at that shop and we'll give you your best option. Basically, you do not want a CPU that can only handle 2 threads - but the Pentium you mentioned would be the best out of those.

There's no quad core CPUs there. I looked at benchmarks and there were almost no gaming benefits after dual core. I thought dual core would have been fine?

Sure, if you're looking at benchmarks from 2010 games... A ton of new games use 3+ threads, and in some of the most demanding games like BF3, Crysis 2&3, Far Cry 3, Metro Last Light, and Hitman Absolution a dual-core struggles to keep 30fps.

Buy online and get a better gaming experience. You won't regret it.
