40 pin ide to 7 pin sata - old hdd, new motherboard

I hope this is an appropriate subject for this area of the forum. I apologize if it is not.
I bought an asrock z77 pro3 motherboard which only has 7 pin sata for hdd (as far as I can tell) while the hdd I would like to use as the master drive is 40 pin ide.
Most of the adaptors I have found are either unnecessarily pricey or they don't work/don't work as a master drive.

Is there an inexpensive 40 pin ide to 7 pin sata adaptor that works well?

I used 4 of these to run my old 4x80gb (bootable) raid array for over a year.

That's interesting. Does that plug into the drive, then one plugs a SATA cable into the adapter?
