Home network and homegroup issues with Windows 7

I've done a little bit of searching on how to use an old router to basically be a wireless access point, between two computers in my house. I do not have internet to this router, so its more of an intranet I guess. I want to be able to use a program like Norton ghost to be able to back these two (or more soon).

I have been able to get the q1000 DSL router setup so the two computers can see each other, and they are within the same Windows 7 home group. I can even see the folders that I have set to be shared, but thats all that can happen, I can see the folder. When I try to double click on the networked folder, this is the error that I am getting:

"Network Error

Windows cannot access \\MYHTPC\Photos

You do not have permission to access \\MYHTPC\Photos. Contact your network adminstrator"

Yet, I have taken all password requirements off on both systems, and I get this same alert on both computers. How do I allow both computers to see the folders that are available for sharing without getting this alert?

Is there something that I need to set up or change in the q1000 router? Im stuck at this point, any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a side note...Some of the other computers will have XP, so is there an easy way to get that computer to join the homegroup?
