I want to know exactly how many FPS im getting during games. Also check the temps of CPU and GPU.

I thought I've read FRAPS has an impact on actual frames numbers. I want something as low impact as possible.

Solution
Just use fraps, its very simple to use, there will be very small impact on FPS. I compared my FPS in gta iv without and with Fraps, i only lost 1 Fps. shouldnt be a biggy

In MSI Afterburner (forgive me if I'm wrong as I don't have the program), turn on "On Screen Display (OSD)." That will show your FPS as well as information regarding your GPU such as usage percentage, clock speeds, etc.

The "Burn in test" is used to stress test your GPU. It's useful for stability tests after overclocking your GPU.

So I hotkeyed the OSD stuff. I thought it wasn't doing anything but all it is doing is messing with the Afterburner application itself and not the display. On an extra window attached to Afterburner is where its making the "OSD" changes. I want the the colored frame counter in the corner.

Are you sure you have all of the information you want in the OSD (such as FPS, core clock, gpu usage, etc.) set up correctly? Make sure they all are set to "show in OSD" and not "show in tray icon" or "show in logitech keyboard LCD display."

+1 for FRAPS.
Unless you truly need to know stats about your GPU while playing, just use FRAPS. It's easier, takes a light toll on your FPS (as previously stated), and it also takes up less space in the corner of your screen during gaming.
