hi, id simply like to know which option is more powerful in gaming (benchmark points or something like that) because i have a gtx 660 ti sc from evga, and with the upcoming new games generation im thinking about upgrade the system.
thanks ! :D

Solution

dont add a second GTX 660 ti, waste of money

the GTX 760 is 256 bit and ALOT faster , yours is 192 bit and slower.

and the 760GTX is 240$ only.

if you want to do it , then sell your GTX 660ti on ebay , and buy 2xGTX 760 and SLI them.

dont buy old cards .. you are late for this .. GTX 660ti is very old , you should done it a year ago. now not worth it

UNLESS , you find it cheap on ebay for like 90$ then do it

To answer your question: Two gtx 660's in SLI are definitely more powerful than a single 680. However, if I were you, I'd look into getting just a single high end card. My personal recommendations would be the gtx 760's or the 770's with 4GB of VRAM. Those two lines of cards will be PLENTY for your gaming needs @ 1080p.

the the no sense is buying another dead outdated card.

I dont think you can sell it higher than 180 euros ... try ebay ...

but buying another 660 ti is a big mistake. the 760 is like the 670 !!! imagine when you bought your 660 , you bought 670 instead !!! and for 250 euros.

there is a way however , do you have any other machine around ? you can use it in it .

I am sorry , but I cant recommend that you buy another 660 ti ...

If you cant sell it , see if you can install it in another machine even old one ..

Dont rush , try to sell it on ebay or around you ... take your time . and as I said if you insist , dont buy new GTX 660 ti

try to find cheap used one and use it in SLI.

if you insist , here is a cheap new 660 Ti (190 euro) ,

which 660 ti did you buy ? 2G or 3G version ?

2 x 660ti's perform similar to a GTX Titan. Totally worth it IMO. Don't listen to people who complain about the 192bit bus and claim its some kind of major issue, they have no idea what they are talking about, just look at the facts> http://www.techspot.com/review/644-nvidia-geforce-titan/page4.html
I would not recommend it if you didnt already have one 660ti, but since you do, getting a second makes the most sense.

who said it is about bus only ?

dont give wrong advice .. the 760 is almost same price of 660 ti and 2x of them will be what ?

The Titan is an Overpriced card ... saying it beats Titan means nothing.

i know the 760 is almost the same price, but he already has one 660ti, so he only has to buy one more. 1+1 = 2..........
If he had to stuff around selling the card, he wont get enough back to justify the cost of 2 x 760's when the performance is actually pretty similar to his 660ti, plus the stuffing around of getting it on ebay, waiting for someone to buy, hoping you get enough money for it. I considered this scenario recently when i got my second gtx660 a couple days ago, i would have to fork out more money than what i had available, even if i sold the card i had for a good price, to get something better like 2 760's. Was more money efficient and time efficient to just get the second card, and have better than gtx680 performance which i am completely happy with.

well, i wont sell my 1 month old card for 180 euros , loose 70 and pay another 250 for a 760, that its only a bit more ¨powerful¨ (if you see the rate at gpuboss.com in gaming perfomance the diference is very very little)
and, if we are realistics, when the ps4 generation games come to pc, if i can run them with a 660 ti sli at max settings in 1080p, i dont want anything more, because as it happend with the ps3 gen, ill be able to play at full settings for 4 or 5 years...
so i preffer save 70 euros and have a 2% less powerfull graphics card , because thats it, a 2-3% ( if playing the diference will be about 3-5 fps more? )

of course, thanks everyone for answering and trying to help :)

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/MSI-GeForce-GTX-760-vs-EVGA-GeForce-GTX-660-Ti-Superclocked-2-GB+

if anyone want to check it ( just for curiosity ) here is a comparation between the gtx 660 ti sc 2 gb ( that i have ) and an msi twin froz OC 760

the 2 cards have the same price at the shop where i buy them (in gpuboss.com the price is higher on the 660, because it is compared at newegg and it is discontinued)
if you want to check price too: http://www.pccomponentes.com/tarjetas_graficas_nvidia_pci_express/gaming/
go to the 250 euros cards, and there are the 2 for a 3 eur diference

i still losing money. as i said, a gtx 660 ti sli can perfectly run 4th gen games at max settings at 1080, so it will be the same for 4-5 years (as happend with 3rd gen games) so i dont care about it.
and , i can try to sell it, yes, but who want it?
nobody will buy a gtx 660 ti sc, that its discontinued for a good price ( about 220 eur ) and it is only 1 month old :/

so, ill buy another gtx 660 ti for this winter and run 4th gen games for 5 years at max settings :p

+1 .. somr people are really afraid to try :)

they key to success is to TRY !!!

its not that people are afraid to try, its that they value their time. stuffing around selling things, shipping things, waiting for payment etc. when you could pay less money, have something nearly as good (and very ample for any game out there) and save a few hours of your time........ I dont know about you, but my life is busy as is and a few hours saved is worth it over 5 fps more in a game that i will never notice.

let him answer this question not you :) and it is around 10 fps more by the way in SLI in Crysis 3
