Which one should i go with for a new gaming build. i5 3570k+ asrock z77 xtreme 4 OR i7 2600k+asus z68 v pro ?
they are both fine for gaming i would go for the i5 cos its cheaper but will perform just as good in games (i would get the 2600k if your going to do encoding etc, you can also get the z77 for either cpu both are compatible

I can have both for nearly the same price , only a 20$ difference.
Yes, more powerful (slightly) and OCs well especially with the Z77 EX 4 - that's what my 3570 is on, 4.7 24/7 - also the Z77 is a better mobo than the Z68 (they sort of got orphaned off)

Im very confused . Some say that it is better to have 4cores/8threads as all newer games crysis 3 , bf3,4 supoorts and give better frames.
Is pcie 2 a let down
