by that resolution, I don't think he has a system that can handle a GTX770.

nah could be only the monitor .. and even so , the Card comes first... most games are GPU dependent .. even with CPU bottleneck the games will play better on a GTX 770 untill he buys a new system..

At the resolution he is running at why have him spend over $450 Australian for a GTX 770 when he could save over $100 and get a GTX 670 that would do the same job at that resolution? They are both based on the same silicon and with the exception of Boost 2 and higher memory clock are really close to the same cards.

In all respects the GTX 670 is still a very capable card and would work great for what he wants. If there was some real newer tech in the GTX 770 I could see it but the truth is there is not and at 1240x1024 it is just needed.

If you get the 770 or 760, you can play at 1920x1024. ;)  You have the money, so why not right? haha

If you have a plan to buy a high resolution monitor>=1080p, Go for gtx770. Else go with gtx650Ti and save money to buy a solid state disk drive. That will be more smart then simply purchasing the latest top end card. Purchasing gtx 770 for this resolution is like asking the God to make cup noodles for you.

you are kidding ...

Get the gtx 770 if you're planning to get a bigger resolution monitor in the future. If not, just get a 660ti or 760 and save the extra money for something else.
