Sir
I build my new custom rig with amd fx 8350.it idle's between 40-45 c. i run the proccesor at stock speeds. once i played gta 4 for 15min the temperature reached 79 c degree celcius .i have cooler master tx3 evo cooler. no use of it. feeling very sad please help me. here are my pc specs
cpu-amd fx 8350
cooler-cooler master tx3 evo cooler
gpu-sapphire hd 7850 2gb oc edition
ram-2*4gb corsair vengeance black ddr3
motherboard-asus M5A97 R2.0
psu-corsair vs 550
hard disk-wd cavair black 1tb
cabinet-cooler master elite 311 with three fans.
please provide me the answer to solve the overheating

i saw in bios the cpu cooler fan is running at a speed of 2750rpm.i going to open my cabinet tommorow.
can some one tell me which part has the defect does the cpu cooler has the problem.

Solution
make sure your fans are blowing air thorught your case in one direction, i usually go front to back.

also you may want to re apply thermal compound, use the rice grain in the middle method and do not spread and just place the heatsink on top of the cpu and push down firmly and twist side to side slightly twice.

sir i applied it only about 3mm ball and squeezed it. ok sir i will re apply the paste but can i use petrol or some otherthing for cleaning up instead of iso propyl alcohol. and now i changed the direction of the fan which blows into heatsink and now the max temperature reached is 72 c is it ok.

On second thought thats a pretty small CPU cooler for a 8 Core power hungry beast like a FX 8350. I would upgrade the cooler to at least a Hyper 212 evo, Or a all-in-one water cooler like a H80 or H100

@AlderonnX,
sir unfortunately i bought it 4 days ago so i cannot upgrade, i will directly upgrade to a water cooler in next five months. my question is this cooler enough for playing games like gta 4 continously for 3hrs.or i should minimise the hours and doing this may harm the cpu.please give me detailed answer sir.
and another question sir whats ur max temp in ur fx 8350.

64c is hot, but fine. Mine maxes out around 61c with the cpu OCd to 4.1 and using the stock cooler. You shouldn't hurt your CPU as long as you don't get any higher, but really with an aftermarket cooler, it should be a lot cooler then that. I would recommend going into the bios and have the CPU fan turn to 100% at 62c. It doesn't sound like your fan is kicking running at 100% till it gets a little too hot.

i dont know how to increase it. but when cpu heats above 60c i automatically runs at 2700 rpm( but 2800 rpm is max).
I aslo reapplied the paste today and saw that the earlier thermal paste was overfloving and it was dry at centre.so i reapplied it by rice grain method and the paste did not come at the edge of cpu. and now i played max payne 3 multiplayer for 1 hr the max temp reached was 61-63c. and the computer idles at 40 c. is it ok now
And i have a question that is my cpu and coooler are fine without any problems because i have a mid tower cabinet ( CM elite 311 with front in, and two fans at rear and side. but the cpu cooler has less space it is surrouded by ram and graphics card very close..
PLEASE ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS HELP ME!!!!
