Hello guys, ok so i have an issue here, i want to buy a 7.1 headset and i have seen reviews and the tiamat seems to be the best one out there, but i have seen a lot of people having problems with the mic and others that do not, do you guys know if it trully sucks or if u need any kind of special hardware to run it nicely? i have a sound card that came with my motherboard wich is this one http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4279#ov, if you know anything plz let me know, also if u know another headset with great audio quality as well as good mic quality that is 7.1 plz tell me.

as for sound card , your onboard is a normal sound , try it first , if you like it then good. if not get Creative soundblaster Z , or Asus Xonar phoebus solo

if money is no issue go for soundblaster ZXR

For gaming, the tiamat is indeed very good. Also with the help of the Razer's audio driver now, your surround sound experience will be very very excellent even without an amplifier. haha Go with it, I have an Electra, only 2.0. But with the help of Razer's driver, had it running "like" a surround sound headphone.

Ok ty guys, althou i find a lot of reviews to be true about the mic being awefull or muffled, i guess ill just go with it and if i need a mic to record ill just get a standalone one, ty for all your answers, i will be checking this thread a couple more times to see if there are any more 7.1 headset options with great mic quality, but overall ty all seems the tiamat won so far.
