I have a top mounted psu and I am looking into getting a new one but all the ones I look at seem to have a fan on the top and not the bottom. Is there any psu around the 750w range that has the fan on the bottom?
This my current specs http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02839589&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5097947
I have an idea , flip your power supply and see if the screws fit then your case can take both directions. and you can get any power supply and flip it so the fan is facing down.

That wasnt my case for my first ever build. I had the Xigmatek Asgard and that was a top mounted PSU, I also had the Cooler Master 650w PSU (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-cooler-master-gx-rs650-acaad3-uk-85-eff-80-plus-bronze-sli-xfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx-v231-psu) and I had no compatibility or "screw problems.
We just have to see what case he has as it could potentially differ for some cases.
Buy a PSU, flip it. Its not like the mounting screw and fan position has changed, its just that photo's are taken of the side with the fan.
Any PSU will have the mounting holes to support either orientation.
