what is hertz in a Monitor and what should i get with my system

hi i just want to know what is hertz in a monitor cause i want to buy a good monitor to view my games in hi resolution i have max settings in the game i play without lag btw the game is dota2
here are my specs im thinking of Aoc brand or Benq but what hertz should fit my system i have 70-80 Fps with max settings on dota2

Cpu - Amd a10-6800k
Gpu - radeon 8670Hd
Ram - 1866 8Gb
Psu - 500w
Mobo - Msi Fm2

It is the refresh rate of a monitor. If a monitor is 60Hz (Hertz) then the screen refreshes 60 times every second. So basically if you had vsync [on] then you could play a game at a constant 60 frames per second. The higher the better. I recommend for general gaming you would only need 60hz but for hardcore gaming 120hz would be great.

If you want to play a game in full resolution then you would want a monitor that has a native resolution of at least 1920x1080.
