Shopping for parts at Fry's Electronics yesterday and found RAM on sale that appears to be what I was looking for. Fry's often has stuff on sale that isn''t advertised- you just have to go to a store and check in person.
Corsair lists 4 different low profile modules (what I want) on their site and none of them match the model number I bought. All the specs are ok- voltage, speed and size are correct but CAS is 11 and all the modules on Corsair's site are 9 or 10. I know speed-wise I probably will never notice a difference but still I worry. Should I just return it?

The ram is most likely good.
Perhaps it is a discontinued part.
If the ram is not supported by Corsair on your motherboard, you may have difficulties with any warranty. Corsair warranty is unlimited so far as I know.
What is the exact part number?

Should be able to find it in CPU-Z in the SPD tab under Part Number

Thanks for the help. Part number is CML16GX3M2A1600C11.
I remember CPU-Z from a while back- unfortunately I haven't got the build finished (waiting on parts) so can't use it yet.

To be honest, QVLs are pretty much worthless, see my info thread here:

The big thing is to get a freq and an amount that your CPU can handle - the just see if it falls into the mobo specs ------ mobo specs are completely worthless without adding the CPU into the equation
