gtx 670 oc or gtx 680 oc

I'm thinking about getting an nvidia card but not sure if I should spend a little more for a zotac amp edition 680.. I have an amd sapphire 7970 ghz edition and I want something that can equal itsperformance because I'm not happy with how it performed ( possibly bad drivers?) Anyways I have been seeing everyone say that you should just get a 670 overclocked because its better than a stock 680 but if I get an overclocked version would it be worth it? I just don't want a downgrade from my 7970 with the New card because I want to be futureproof for the next gen gaming so I can be even with the ps4, if I'm gonna have lower graphical standards with my pc then what's the point, I might as well just save my money and buy a ps4 in a few months.. please help with suggestions as to what card I should get! Thanks!

What is your full system specs, perhaps other components are choking the 7970.

you could get a GTX 770, its just a overclocked GTX 680 so you might get slightly better performance compared to 7970 Ghz. and it should cost around 400$, if you don't wamnt to spend that much then GTX 670 is better due to its price/performance ratio.

Byo, the 670 is superior to the 760. +1 for both however.
