I am having trouble deciding for the asus rampage vi extreme or the asus ramage iv formula motherboard. Of course it is going to be for hardcore gaming.

Solution

The Rampage IV Extreme will only work with the Sandy Bridge-E processors (4770K will not work) What exactly is the PSU? If you plan on Quad-SLI, I would go for the Rampage IV Extreme and the 3930K (Unless you already have the 3960X).

Pics or it didn't happen :p

Unless you are going for a Quad-SLI setup, the Rampage IV Formula is a better choice for the money. If you are willing to spend more for the Rampage IV Extreme, it will have a bit more features. What is your full build specs? If you need the extra RAM slots in the Extreme for super heavy tasks that is not gaming, it is also a better choice. If you plan to use LN2 for testing, the Extreme was designed to be able to be used with LN2 effectively.

I do plan on an quad sli setup. If I go formula then the CPU will be Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition Sandy Bridge-E. If I go extreme then it wil be an intel i7 4770k. 16 gb of ram. Quad gtx titans I won at my local computer shop (no joke), I will be water cooling them as we'll as the CPU. 1500w psu. Case is Corsair 650D. 32gb SSD for boot up and another 1TB HDD.
