Hello everyone, I'm about to build a gaming PC. I need to decide between a gtx 760 and 770. At my local computer store, the 760 is priced at $280 and the 770 and $440. I wanna know if the 770 is really worth that extra money. I want to have at least 60? frames per sec on max settings with the upcoming games such as Battlefield 4 and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist.

Thanks in advance.

If you exclude the other PC components, the gtx 760 differs 10-20 fps from the gtx 770 in the most games (Far cry 3, Bf3 etc.) So the 770 is superior but not worth the price difference, I would say go with the gtx 760 and if you need a better card go with a dual (sli) gtx 760's.

Based only on price difference I would buy 760.

But since you're looking for reasonable future performance and at least 60fps, 770. But, still, I can't confirm if even a 770 will be able to run those games in max settings, with a min 60fps, depending on resolution.

If you want single GPU, GTX 770 will allow you to play next gen games at higher settings with better frame rate than the GTX 760. Note: The GTX 770 is a refreshed 680 while the 760 is the refreshed 770. So the performance difference is about the same as the 680 and 670.

Worth is something only YOU can decide.
Since you are looking to get 60fps on max settings, buy the strongest card you can be comfortable paying for.
I have never regretted paying more for something good. I have often regretted paying less and not being satisfied.

The requirements for upcoming games are unknown. I would be prepared.

Ill say stick with the 770 just as geofelt said. The 770 will get you great fps in new games and the 760 will maybe make you feel uncomfortable because you want to think... when should i get another one... even 2 760 will get great and better fps but your pc will run a lot hotter and it isint really necesary... after 3-4 years get another 770 and you woukld get too much fps that is not neaded so stay with the 770.. he will impress you i promise you man...

Alright, I think I'll go for a Gigabyte OC 2Gb GTX 770. Thanks ;)
