So my Corsair Force 3 seems a bit slow compaired to other SSD's I see boot super fast. So my question is should I upgrade to say a Samsung 840 Pro OR do a raid 0 setup with a second 128GB SSD. If I do the raid 0 would there be any issues using two different types of SSD's of the same size? I ask because it seems the force 3 is no longer available.

Solution
Putting SSDs in RAID0 is not always the greatest idea. It's likely that you will run into CPU or PCH bottlenecks, and possibly compatibility issues. It is always recommended that RAIDs be built from identical components.

you'd be better served by selling the force 3 and picking up a new 256gb drive.

If you are having performance issues I suggest you investigate further because the F3 is pretty quick. 550 reads 500 writes iirc. How full is the drive? Did you overpartition? whens the last time you gave trim and garbage collection time to do their thing? ect...

Well I dont know much about SSD besides how to install them lol. So I dont really know if I have gave trim and garbage collection time to do their thing. Lol is that something I would have to tell the PC to do? I know there was a firmware flash I never did. I just know that I see several PC boots where the PC is booted befor the windows animation can finish, with my PC it finishes then takes a few more seconds.
