I'm thirteen and i'm making my first computer. I've finally saved 2000$ and I don't have any prior experience with building computers and which parts I should get. my dad can help me build it, so that's not a problem.in the end I would like to have some money (200+) left over for other things.
I would like a computer that can run skyrim and my other steam games!
thanks for help!
tell me if there is anything you need.

NOTE: I might want 2 monitors
I would also prefer a list of things for building te cmpter

Solution
If he's going for 2-3 monitors I would suggest at least a 4gb GPU or to future proof his rig. Also for the price of the 7979Ghz edition i'd rather go with the GTX 770 SC (either windforce edition or EVGA) Case wise i'd spend a bit more for the HAF X and get a lot more.

I'd honestly recommend getting 1 monitor first and see how you like it and add more later. I'd suggest an IPS monitor a bit more expensive but more quality than the others. If you want as well 120hz monitor would be nice if you're playing a lot of FPS games. If FPS games aren't your focus than IPS is the way to go.

Your budget is way more than adequate for a great build with some money left over.

Opinions will vary widely on this question, as they always do here.

I like Intel CPUs and would lean toward a mid range 1150 socket CPU and ASRock/MSI motherboard with 8GB ram, an SSD for the OS and apps/games (don't go crazy but stick with quality: Samsung, Intel, Crucial), a larger storage HDD (like 1-2TB), a very good quality PSU, whatever case suits you, inexpensive CD/DVD drive, and whatever video card you can afford from the latest BEST FOR THE MONEY.

If you need the miscellaneous stuff like KB, mouse, and monitor think about a nice big fast 24 inch. I still like Windows 7 and it is still more compatible with software than 8.

Good luck.

I would like 2 monitors, what would you recommend?
Thanks, too.

Could you give me a list of parts? I'm not very techno. Oriented. Preferably with a little money to spare. Also, I have heard that about having 2 monitors is addicting.

Are you in the US outside of California? I ask because I order most parts from Newegg in California (and out of state there is no sales tax from Newegg), although I also use Amazon if they are cheaper on a particular item even though they charge sales tax on me in Texas.

How soon do you want to build? And how about a target of $1350 for the computer (plus $350 for the monitors)?

Well, I live in Illinois. I would like the build within a week or so. What monitors are we getting? Most other posts I see 1500$ computers, so that would work. Just as long as I have quite a bit of storage on it and fast enough computing for skyrim.also,i like this case but I'm not sure if I would fit the stuff.

I would also like high red.

I would go with a pair of THESE on sale at $150 each free shipping.

For a parts list take a look at THIS ARTICLE particularly the $1000 build, which will be a little cheaper now so you can upgrade the graphics. I would probably substitute an Intel i5-4430 use the heat sink/fan that come with it since you won't overclock, use G.Skill memory 8Gb, and an ASRock or MSI Z87 board.

One key is to buy a good quality power supply. For a storage drive, Newegg has a 2TB SEAGATE DRIVE for only $85. They also have a bunch of good power supplies on sale -- just check their web site latest email deals HERE.

What graphics card would you recommend. Also, I will probably get a 20 in and a 24 in monitors, because I'll use one for aging and the other for something that isn't as important, like a Skype call. I will be using win7 for the OS. I also could pay a little more for the computer, I'm willing to go over budget a little bit, if need be. Also, which motherboard would you recommend, out of the two, the ASrock or the MSI Z87? I just need a graphics card to do 1680 by 1050 or something like that. I would like to have a computer that I can use for at least 5-10 years, so, again, I'm willing to invest quite a bit on it.

!

You cannot really build a machine for 5-10 years, although I have a couple that are 5 years old they are all backup machines. You are better off targeting what you want to do now and worry about a few years from now when the time comes. One advantage in building a machine is the ability to upgrade.

Probably the single biggest choice is the video card -- take a look at THIS ARTICLE.

IMO MSI and ASRock are a toss up, select one based on the features it has that you want.

I think this is close to what you want to spend, this is similar to what I went with for my build. The Asus monitor has the fast response time you're looking for in a gaming monitor, with a smaller cheaper Acer monitor for your other stuff that you want to do. That CM case you posted is more than big enough for everything you're going to put in it, it's a huge full tower case.

That's what I came up with. Gives you the flexibility to go 2-3 monitors in the future with a 4gb GPU. Power supply that can handle SLI if needed. Much better cooling system if you want to overclock your system.

Also heres an IPS monitor that I found

I won't be overlooking, thanks for the post.
Also, I've used one monitor and switching between programs is really annoying.
Also, is liquid cooling hard to set up? My dad will help me build the computer but he's never done liquid.

If you won't be overlocking than you shouldn't get a K series. That's what it's meant for. I'd suggest thinking about overclocking in the future.. Also you can just swap that cooling for anything really. Build is still solid and very future proof if you actually read through it but good luck..

I know that liquid is faster, would this be combative with two monitors?

K series is the "unlocked" cpu. It gives you the ability to go above the base clock of the CPU. For instance 3570 or haswell equivalent have base clocks at 3.4ghz. The "K" series can make it go up to 4.0+. If you read through my first post for the rest of the items you'll under stand a bit more why I choose certain items.

I suppose if I ever want to overlook, I could. This is probably a stable build for my computer. I'll just get another monitor and I'm done!
How on earth did I reply to both of you...

Thanks everyone for your help!

Like I said before you go dual monitors i'd try single and then use your dads or an extra one to see how it feels. I for one have tried dual monitors and literally hated it. To each there own though. Also I'd go to a local computer store and take a look at there monitors and see what they have. See which one is best for you. I wouldn't buy there though just see what you like and go from there.

Looks good and honestly you can go with the Hyper evo 212 as the CPU cooler for now and upgrade later on if you want to start overlocking your CPU more and more. That's up to you either choice is a good one. Also for a case have you looked at the Cooler Master HAF X? Pretty neat case.

All looks very good. Congrats on your future build. If you or your dad have any troubles feel free to come back and bug us. Plenty of videos on youtube as well if either of you need. Building a computer is pretty easy just watch your father do it and don't be afraid to ask step by step!
