i have a seagate usb 3 hard drive EXTERNAL - hooked to the front usb 3 panel, worked for many many days. one day when clicking "safely remove hard drive" the computer reset...
NOW that same hard drive only shows my files when plugged into the BACK usb3 port. if its plugged into front it says the hard drive needs to be formatted. yet its fine when plugged into the back.

YES i tested the front port with a different hard drive. it works great.

i uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled several times.

this has happened with others and the only way i ever fixed it was to reinstall windows. i do not want to reinstall.
im sure its some stupid setting in the registry.
ANYONE know anything about this problem???

yes i did chkdsk - no problems
its hard to believe this problem, the drive is fine. i use it in the back usb3 port. if i plug it into the front it freezes explore, has no drive letter in disk man...the front port is also working, because i have another usb3(smaller)drive that works fine in all ports. crazy...crazy.
i buy a 12 pack for person who knows the fix!!!
