http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+FX-8350+Eight-Core - FX-8350 for 190 $
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+FX-8320+Eight-Core - FX-8320 for 160 $
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+FX-6300+Six-Core - FX-6300 for 115 $
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+FX-6100+Six-Core - FX-6100 for 119 $
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X4+965 - AMD Phenom II X4 965 for 135 $

which one do you prefer ?? think about Value/performance .

( the best one for Value/Performance is the FX-8320 - i suggest to you to get this and overclock it to 4 GHz to get the same performance of the FX-8350 for 160 $ only )
For gaming the better choice will be the Phenom II 965. The bonus part is if you get a 970 or 990fx chipset motherboard, you can eventually upgrade to the latest and best Amd Cpu. Their next offering will also be based on the Am3+ socket.

i would suggest this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113285

the best value CPU Available at the moment , 8 cores , overclockable , powerful for gaming .

with this motherboard .

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131872

both for 245 , or you can get cheaper motherboard , but you won't be able to overclock with cheaper motherboards .

this is the best thing you can do with your 250 $ i guess .

btw , the FX-8320 will be better choice for you than the FX-8350 since it's cheaper by - 35 ~ 40 $ , both has the same specs but the FX-8350 has higher clock speed ( FX-8320 3.5 GHz - FX-8350 4.0 GHz ) anyway , you can overclock your FX-8320 to higher than 4.2 easily to get an FX-8350 for 160 $ only .

+1 to this upgrade , but if you want an Asus motherboard ( since it's the best motherboards company )

you can get this on for 80 and it has the same specs as that ASrock Motherboard

Btw , the FX-8320 stock fan(heatsink) is from coolermaster company , it's awesome for temps but it's very load since it can reach +5000 RPM

you can overclock the FX-8320 using the stock cooler .

am using the FX-8350 @ 4.2 GHz with it stock fan , the max load temps are awesome , max 60 C avg 52 C

idle temps : Max 30 C Avg 25 C
