Hi all,

Please no fanboy wars! Just honest answers. I'm looking for the best cpu that doesn't have diminishing returns in games. I want a processor that will yield 100% performance in games ideally. I know the i5-3570k wil do this and I would oc it. I just need good cheap mobo and ram to keep it all close to $300 as possible

Looking for a good cpu and mobo, possibly any good combos you guys know of that's good for gaming. I play crysis 3, metro last light, bf3 the most right now maxed out at 1080p.

My problem is I have old cpu/mobo/ram, I know. I am a college student budget gaming! I can't afford the 3570k + asrock z77 extreme 4 + 8gb ddr3 corsair vengeance , which would be my ideal upgrade if I had more money.

But for the meantime, I'm hoping to get a good upgrade and would love help what to do

Current rig

Phenom 965 oc'd to 3.8
4gb ddr2 800
Corsair h60
150gb hdd
Gtx 760 gigabyte windforce oc'd
650 watt antec earthwatts
Gigabyte ga-ma790x ud4p

Solution
The 2500k is 2 generations older than the i5 4430. The 4430 is an VERY good CPU. It will not have any troubles play all the newest games and playing games for a long time.

Thank you both very much for the opinions ! I'm curious though, which processor would be better for gaming?

Does the intel i5-4430 offer close to 100% performance in games in terms of fps and such ? Or would it be better to shell out extra for 2500k or something ?

It seems that the 8320 gets like 5-10 fp ess than the i5-3570k in games like crysis 3 , wish I remembered the link. I just wondering like if you said, ill get all the fps I can get out of the 8320 if I OC it
