ok, so I bought a set of ram from a guy who said his system kept crashing with them in, and he just wanted to buy a new set instead of troubleshooting. I ran memtest86+ on all but 1 stick for about 1 hour, and had 0 errors, then, the last stick had just about 38 errors after 25 mins. when I stopped it. is this a bad stick of ram and should I toss it, or would it still work in with the others? whatis the acceptable pass/fail rate for a stick of ram in memtest? any help?

if you are wondering, it was a 16gb set of ram (4x4gb corsair 1600mhz) and I bought it for 15$

Maximum acceptable errors: 0 over 1000 hours.

One error in 25 minutes is already one error too many.

I wouldn't think so if the others were fine. More so if you tested them all in the same slot.

Could look into an RMA, but think Corsair still plays one owner non-transferable, et al, which is why I like GSkill's flat Lifetime Warranty
